Professional Bondsmen of Texas

To ALL…Texas Bondsmen and Bondswomen

THIS LETTER MAY BE YOUR LAST CHANCE TO SURVIVE…IN THE BAIL BOND BUSINESS THIS TEXAS LEGISLATIVE SESSION.

PLEASE READ AND BELIEVE THIS LETTER AS A SERIOUS APPEAL TO RALLY OUR TEXAS BONDSMEN AND CONTRIBUTE QUICKLY TO THIS LEGAL CAUSE!

This letter it being sent to every Bonding company in Texas whether you’re a member of the
Professional Bondsmen of Texas or not…
EVERYONE will be negatively affected or put out of business THIS SESSION.

In the last several months, there have been several developments that place your business in jeopardy. In addition, there are numerous bills currently in the Texas legislature for serious “bail reform”. An organization called “Equal Justice under the Law” has also filed federal lawsuits in California, Georgia and now Texas to release all defendants on misdemeanor cases from custody with no surety other than the defendants word so they can show up for a future court date. The cases in California and Georgia are pending along with the Texas Harris County case are all in the litigation phase. Several… Texas politicians have also publicly announced their support for “bail reform” which means free bail.

Keep in mind that this is a federal case and that any decision affects every bond company in Texas.

The people involved will not allow our Texas professionals to have a voice and so, our only recourse is to hire the best constitutional attorney we can afford to hopefully stop the ground swell of people that do not care that the defendants involved broke the law. There only regard, is to release them because some believe they remain in jail because they cannot pay the fee. Bondsmen all know that financing is available to qualified applicants.

The Professional Bondsmen of Texas has established a “PBT Judicial Defense Fund” to help pay for our selected constitutional attorney which is necessary to represent Texas in the current pending case in the Houston federal litigation.

Donations from “Each and Every Texas Bondsmen” in the state of Texas must be donated now… to help pay the approximately $75,000 - $100,000 in legal fees. The Professional Bondsmen of Texas can NOT fund this huge amount so, it’s truly up to YOU… to make a donation, take a stance on your profession and your business and employees future. You may NOT get another chance!

At each Professional Bondsmen of Texas meeting these legislative issues are the main topic of discussion. If you have any questions and would like to be directly involved please attend the April PBT association meeting or learn how to contact your representative please call.

We estimate that a $150 donation from every bondsmen in Texas as our goal. If some give more and some give less we hope…it evens out to $150.
